Datejuice / Irina Bako was born in Bucharest in 1985, where she grew up exploring multiple interests in her 20s, from street art to stuffed toys to journalism to filmmaking, pursuing the latter in her university studies.

From 2012 to 2017 she managed 7 electronic music labels, party nights and co-founded Interval, a Romanian underground electronic music festival, alongside her DJ-ing and life partner, Herne. She has also worked with Boiler Room, Untold / Neversea and Global Records.

Irina picked up 3D design in 2020 and she now sees herself as an internet art creator. Her Instagram acts as the main output for her visual work, both still and animated, and her favorite software is Zbrush + Marvelous Designer.
She has collaborated (as artist and curator) with Kinema Ikon Arad in 2021.

Her works are always rich in candy-like textures and toned-down camp aestethic and they often reference modern fashion photography. Her digital landscapes and portraits usually depict dreamscapes, memories, imaginary fashion models or cute but weird beings. Her work is filled with tongue-in-cheeck visual fetishes: humanoid models in revealing clothes, special objects or distinctive poses that she invests with symbolic and emotional value, creating a performative 3D ‘shot’.

In her real life, she has an extenstive collection of beautiful, found things at home and five amazing cats. This deep emotional connection with objects and animals also translates into her 3D work.
